“Ise Province (Ise no kuni), where divine winds blow, is a beautiful place where waves from this world lap on its shore and the goddess will stay in this province forever.”

When Ise shrine was erected, Yamato hime no mikoto was given the oracle by the great sun goddess Amaterasu Omikami.

There is a great ria coast environed by “Miya-gawa” ,the clearest river in Japan, the primeval forest where the headstream of the river is located, and the beautiful blue ocean.

This great province has abundance of its mountain and its ocean.

Ise Grand Shrine was brought by the oracle by the great sun goddess Amaterasu Omikami after Yamatohime no mikoto’s wandering for the search of the permanent location to worship the goddess.

There are 125 shrines within Ise Grand shrine, where the main shrine (“Naiku” inner shrine,and “Geku” outer shrine) and many other different shrines are included.

At main shrine ( “Naiku” and “Geku”) and 5 different shrines ( “Tsukiyomi no miya”, the other “Tsukinomi no miya”, “Yamatohime no miya”, “Izawano miya” and “Takiharano miya”), you can request the official stamp ‘Goshuin’, and collecting “Gosuin” brings additional excitement to Ise-Shima Visit.
